Managing Overages
Last updated 2026-03-10
How Overages Work
On some plans, if you exceed your included MCP request limit, additional requests are billed as overages rather than being blocked. This ensures your AI tools keep working even during busy periods.
Overages apply only to MCP requests. Standards, API specs, and team member limits are hard limits — you must upgrade to add more.
Overage Pricing
Overage requests are billed at a per-request rate that varies by plan. The exact pricing is shown on your Billing page and in your plan details. Overages are calculated at the end of each billing cycle and added to your next invoice.
Preventing Overages
If you want to avoid overage charges, you have a few options:
- Upgrade your plan — Higher plans include more MCP requests.
- Set a spending cap — Go to Billing settings and set a maximum overage amount. Once the cap is reached, MCP requests will be paused until the next billing cycle.
- Monitor usage — Check your usage dashboard regularly and set up notifications.
Viewing Overage Charges
Overage charges appear as a separate line item on your invoice. You can view your invoices from the Billing page. Each invoice shows your base plan cost, any overages, and the total amount charged.
