CodeContext has three roles that control what members can do within an organization:
- Admin — Full access. Can manage members, billing, settings, and all content.
- Editor — Can create, edit, and delete standards and API specs. Cannot manage members or billing.
- Viewer — Read-only access. Can view standards and API specs but cannot make changes.
Permission Details
Here is a breakdown of what each role can do:
- View standards and API specs — All roles.
- Create and edit standards — Admin and Editor.
- Delete standards — Admin and Editor.
- Import API specs — Admin and Editor.
- Invite and remove members — Admin only.

Changing a Member Role
To change someone's role, go to the Team page, find the member, and click "Change Role." Select the new role and confirm. The change takes effect immediately — the member does not need to log out or refresh.
Owner Role
The person who created the organization is the owner. The owner has all admin privileges and cannot be removed from the organization. Ownership can be transferred to another admin from the Organization Settings page if needed.
