Connecting Claude.ai

Overview

Claude.ai supports MCP integrations that allow Claude to access external tools and data sources during your conversations. By connecting CodeContext, you can ask Claude about your coding standards and API specs directly from the web interface.

Setting Up the Integration

To connect CodeContext to Claude.ai:

1. Log in to Claude.ai and navigate to your profile settings.
2. Look for the Integrations or MCP section.
3. Add a new MCP server with your CodeContext endpoint URL.
4. Enter your API key for authentication.
5. Save the integration.

Once saved, Claude.ai will have access to your CodeContext knowledge base in all new conversations.

Using CodeContext in Claude.ai

Start a new conversation and ask Claude about your standards. For example, you can ask "What does our error handling standard say?" and Claude will search your CodeContext knowledge base to provide an accurate answer.

You can also ask Claude to help you write code that follows your team's conventions. It will reference the relevant standards automatically.

Limitations

The Claude.ai integration works for reading and searching your standards. Creating or editing standards must be done through the CodeContext dashboard. Also note that MCP integrations on Claude.ai may require a Pro or Team subscription.
